Will Marino will be showing his work with paper dartboards. Will “unwinds” the paper core of the dartboards and reshapes them into intricate and beautiful forms of color and texture. Will was a 2006 Rydell Visual Arts Fellowship recipient and has shown in galleries and museums around the country as well as appearing multiple times in Artweek magazine. This will be Will’s first appearance as a First Friday artist.

First Friday Art Tour this month featuring the art of Gracia Stanfield. “My paintings are intersections between me, my Spanish culture, and my renaissance as an immigrant in a new land. The clash of cultures and changes in my life are juxtaposed with illustrations of dreams, emotions and reality. These paintings are my adventure, both a part of my heart and my mind; always with my feet on the earth and with my head in the stars. My work is one of constant reinvention.”
Stop by this First Friday Art Tour to meet artist Johnny Amador and see his art celebrating the Mexican tradition of the “Day of the Dead”. The show will include many of his pieces, large and small. We will have Sugar Skull face painting by renowned local traditional artist, Bly Morales, and we will enjoy appetizers from El Palomar!
Join us this Saturday, Oct. 19th 2-5 pm and meet Winemaker Michael Muccigrosso. Michael will be bringing us a selection of his wines to taste. Muccigrosso Vineyards is a family-run endeavor committed to producing small quantities of hand made fine wines designed to satisfy everybody. Since the early 80’s when they first planted vines on their Santa Cruz Mountain property, they have studied the winemaking process from vine to glass. Over the years they have learned a great deal about getting results with as little intervention possible. Congratulations go to Muccigrosso as they win big in the 2013 SF Chronicle Wine Competition; Double Gold (Pinot Noir) and Silver (Zinfandel)! We will enjoy tasting 5 wines. $10 tasting fee will be waived with a bottle purchase.
Join us for First Friday Art Tour and meet artist Matt Jones who channels spirit onto canvas. He is a self-taught artist that is inspired by love, surfing, fishing and most of all…music. “Live painting” in the presence of live music is his ultimate inspiration. The music leads him into a meditation which allows him to get out of the way of himself, and become an empty vessel that allows music to channel the universe into art. The more he gives himself to the music the more his paintings come to life with celebrations of vibrant colors and spontaneous movement. He has painted live with many amazing musicians such as India Arie, Brett Dennen, Anthony B, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Ziggy and Damion Marley, Eryka Badu, Ani DiFranco and many more. He paints yearly at the Harmony Festival, Earthdance, the High Sierra Music Festival and is open to all opportunities to collaborate art with music.
Join us this Sunday, meet winemaker Mica Raas. We will be tasting Mica’s Merlot, Chardonnay, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Reserve Malbec. As a micro-winery, Myka Cellars creates artisan, terroir driven wines from sustainable grapes from the heart of the Monterey Bay. He employs a hands off approach using natural fermentation and gentle handling to let the grapes shine.
A $10 tasting fee will be waived with a bottle purchase. Lite snacks will be provided.
